I have been given a Hoya plant that was unfortunately left in the sun?

It is a bit yellow and had flowers on it but they have died due to lack of attention. Is it ok for me to cut it back and feed it? It is now under shade cloth.

Thank you

Hoya plants are very resilient and with proper care and environment will grow quickly. They do well in a hanging basket, in an area of filtered sunlight.

Yes, cut it back, trimming just above a leaf set. It should respond well to a 1/2

teaspoon per gallon of water feeding with Miracle Grow. After the plant regains its strength regularly trim off the ends to a leaf set. this will assist in creating a fuller plant with generous foliage.

Keep a watchful eye as they are targeted regularly by orange aphids,

particularly on new growth shoots. If this happens, don't panic. Remove plant from sun and spray the affected area with a light non-toxic mixture of white vinegar, baking soda and dishwashing liquid. After aphids are dead, rinse the plant well and return to filtered sunlight.
