How to make boot selection screen longer?

Right now Im dual booting Windows XP and Ubuntu. When I first open the computer after the BIOS screen. I see the option to choose between Windows XP and Ubuntu. But I have to select Ubuntu under 2 seconds before it auto loads Windows XP. How do i make it so I have as much time as I need? Or extra 30 seconds?

Hold down F2 (or F8 -depending on your configuration) during booting before you see the windows logo. This will take you to the boot menu where as well as seeing which OS to start with, you can adjust the delay settings

    Look at the /etc/default/grub file.
