If my amp is 2ohm stable, should i get the 2ohm or the 4ohm version of the woofer I want?
I know what ohms means and all that but I want to know which would be best for producing really loud, accurate bass wit the least distortion. Nevermind the specs of my amp, I know it's not a high-end brand so you can't too great of quality. I just want to know which version would suit my wants best. Thanks:)
Thanks for all the drawn out answers, but all I'm looking for is the simple answer of 2 or 4ohm. im getting a single sub.

USE (RF TECH WOOFER WIRING WIZARD) Google it. Learn how these Sub's should be wired. If your wiring a pair of 4 ohm sub's to the right class D or bridgeable Amp,you will end up with a 2 ohm load on the Amplifier use the site i mentioned before you commit to buying any Sub woofers.

If the amp is stable at 2 Ohms, you can use a single subwoofer with a 2 Ohm impedance.
If you were using a pair of subwoofers, bridged in parallel, you would want to buy 4 Ohm subwoofers. In parallel, the net load would be 2 Ohms.

It all depends on how you wire the sub or subs. Go to 12volt.com and find the subwoofer wiring diagram part it will tell you everything you need to know. Here is the link. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurationsm.asp
