If the vacuum is the kind that has the bag/filter BEFORE the "turbine" (cannister type) it won't hurt anything, if it is like a lot of the uprights, where all the "chunky things" hit the propeller (going at like 10,000 rpm) then go to the bag/filter, might possibly cause problems (FOD)* but they probably are too small.
* FOD = "foreign object damage" in the turbine industry.

Depends on the Type of Vacuum Cleaner,
A One' that uses a separate Head & Hose, will probably suffer no ill-effects.
Whilst an Upright Cleaner, which has a belt driven brush Head, may suffer,
If repeatedly used. At some time the Drive-belt, wil then tear, split,
And then Fail altogether. The 'belt-replacing' on some, V Cleaners,Can be
an Absolute Pain, in the Backside to Repair. (not all- but some...) esp' at Xmas.

Most bagless vac's or tank vac's with a hose will take up the BB's with no problem. The uprights with no hose will likely put them through the fan chamber and it's not likely, but it is possible, to cause problems, (damage), to the fan system.

I wouldn't think it hurt the vacuum, but depending what else you sucked up with them, it could be plugged up
