Moving a mobile home?
I am looking at moving a mobile home, and was told by someone that I can't move a house over 20 years old. I am just wanting to know if this is true? I can't seem to find any information about it. I live in Utah, and don't know if the laws on moving a house may be different or something? Anyone know if a house can be moved if it's over 20 years old?

It seems logical, since they aren't very well built in the first place, and might come apart during transport. It would most likely cost more to have it moved than you'd pay for it in the first place if it's that old, by the way. Call a mobile home transport company and ask!

Screw that, move it. If you can't find the law on it I would say it is worth a shot. This could be a hunting cabin or vacation home, take the chance. If you do get pulled over, be compliant, they won't put you in jail or anything. An important note: mobile homes are well constructed, it is meant to be moved, depending on condition of course. You think a normal house can get hauled down the road?

Why don't you call a company in your area which moves mobile homes and ask them? They will know all there is to know about it. In your yellow pages under "house moving".
