My friend gave me a friend's phone number. How should I talk when I make a call?

Last night I was talking to a friend when he gave me a phone number of a friend of his. He said it was from a girl who would like to know me because we share something in common. I have not met the girl yet but want to introduce myself to her by phone. Though I do plan to telling her that my friend gave me her number I don't know what else to say other than that we may meet sometime soon. I know I'm not suppose to act creepy on the phone but both of us are a bit shy when meeting new people - especially on the phone.

Do you have any tips on how I should talk when I make a call other than introducing myself? I want to make our phone conversation go well in the hopes that we would build a good friendship.
