Is it possible to change processors on a laptop?

Is it possible to change processors on a laptop?

I currently own a HP 2000 (I think?) laptop running OS W7 home premium 64 bit with 4 gig of ram & 500 gigs of hard drive space on I3 core 2.20Ghz processor!

Is it possible to change the processor to an i5 or i7 with 8 gigs of ram?

I know I can up the ram from 4 to 8gbs (as it is single ddr3 ram slot & I have one to spare) which I'm planning on doing anyway in about 3 months (as that is when the warranty runs out), but just wondering if i can change the processor at all?

the computer is mostly used for internet, education, work & research (95%). I have no reason to use it for playing games, as I spend more time on the computer learning & working then I do worrying about playing games + I own a Playstation 3 (so no need to use it for games)!

The programs I usually use on a regular basis is graphic programs like Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator & photo/graphic programs etc.

It works fine at the moment, but I would like it to be a bit quicker then what it is!

you can but you have to know what proccessors are compatible with the mobo on your laptop, also you run ahigh risk of breaking other parts.
