Can I get a Beagle if I have pet rabbits?
I'm thinking about getting a beagle, in every way it seems perfect for my lifestyle, however I do already own pet rabbits and guinea pigs.
My rabbits live outside in a secure hutch and though are currently occasionally brought inside, I never would have them in direct contact with the dog. I was just wondering if the Beagle would constantly pester them when near the hutch?
Also the guinea pigs are in a cage indoors, do Beagles tend to pester/be violent towards piggies?
I was just wondering if anyone had personal experiences with these pet combos :D
Thank you in advance!

It depends on whether or not the dogs have been trained. I have had 2 beagles and both of them were around rabbits and never even bothered with them. A friend of mine had a beagle and tried to train him to hunt rabbits and his dog and rabbit became the best of friends. Just make sure you do train them properly. mine were. They also didn't bay or run away or dig like a lot of people seem to think do.

I might be able to help you here. My mom and I are trying to train my two dogs too, because the boy jumps and nips people. So to train them "Sit, stay, come," etc, you should probably with buying some books on it. Read here https://tr.im/ompaT
Explore and see what information people can give you. If you go on twice a day walks, you'd be surprised how many people walking dogs you can chat with and find information!
OK. You can also start by treats/toys. For toys, keep a secret selection of different-flavored bones somewhere, and when the dogs do something well, give them a bone. For treats you do the same. I would probably stick with the bones, because the dogs can get overweight with too many treats. So when your dog is calm and just kind of walking around, pat his behind a little and say loud and clearly, "Sit!" Not roughly, just kind of hold the word like your singing. Your voice should be effective, but sweet. If the dog doesn't automaticlly sit, that's okay. Just try it again until he does. Once your dog sits, you give him whatever the prize is.

If you want dead rabbits then yes
Your parents will end up getting rid of it after a while due to the all the baying, the digging up the yard, the tearing up the house any way. Beagles are very high prey drive and will kill the smaller pets first chance it gets.
