propane bbq burner repair?

I was told you can make a propane burner out of copper pipe if the holes are drilled he proper size. My question: what type of solder would you use for the supply hose connection? It seems to me that there is quite a bit of pressure and heat at that point and solder wouldn't hold.

You are still using the regulator ….right!!!

If this is for a BBQ modification your connection will be to the manifold ...not the burners

The melting point of 95/5 solder is ....for you in Canada 214 Celsius > 435 degrees for us normal people LOL

Although copper will conduct more heat than aluminum I would think you would be fine with solder since the flame is never touching the burners. However if you wanted to be safe or safer ….try brazing the connection. Melting point of a brazing rod is 450 C and 840 degrees F

Pressure is fine under both methods since it is never really under pressure if shut off at the tank.

You can buy replacement burners for grills and the heat issue is why they crimp the burner joints and spot weld rather than solder them.
