How exactly are atheists a detriment to society?
Once again a Christian is blaming us for all sorts of imagined things. http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201...
So let's hear it. What exactly is it we're doing that's so awful? We work, pay taxes, love our families, friends and pets. Moreover, we're asking for the freedom to live our lives in peace without being forced to adopt anyone else's values.
@ GUESS WHO. So you're saying only Christians should have rights? Unusually honest admission.

Because some people are just too ignorant to respect anybody who has different opinions. In Australia a quarter of the population are athiests and in New Zealand it's a little over a quarter. Imagine how many people would leave those countries if that law was enforced. That'd be so bad for the economy.

It's their own brainwashed beliefs. It's like the "white American" against the African-Americans, their arguments are futile.
They just don't agree with your religious ideas that there is no god. They are just being extremely narrow-minded, and definitely not educated in the least.
They think that they are fulfilling "god's will" while the atheists are going against it, it's bogus what it is, but the world is full of heartless, uneducated, and religious buffoons.

Only fascists say that:
"We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out."

Because of the Principle of Guilt by Association. Church people must avoid contact with us or God might get pissed off at them.

Because we don't believe in their god.
That's all the reason they need to hate us.
