Would you suggest it is time for me to be independent?

I am 19 years old I can no longer live with my parent I will be moving into my own apartment in two weeks. I don't have any money on reserve but I do have a full time job and I will also be placed on rental assistance. How far do you think I will get?

We are programmed with survival instinct; if your full time job covers your rent and costs then you will last a long time. At least you know that your parents are always there to help if you need to go back. I am 23 and I still live with my mother; it is difficult but I grin and bare it until I find a higher paying job so that I can afford to move out.

    Hope this helps.

Unless you have extremely good money management skills, you are going to be in trouble when it comes time to pay Feb's rent.

    Good luck

If your relying on rental assistance, you are far from "independent".
