C. At all class levels, were legally subordinated to fathers and husbands
This was a patriarchal society. Women married at a young age, bore children and ran the household. They were not allowed outside.

C. There is a vast amount of evidence to show that women were subordinate to their fathers and husbands. They were required to stay at home and engage in activities such as weaving and were required to run the household as opposed to men who indulged in much more social activities.

e)
For example,Spartan women were given the same education as men,and could choose who (or even if) they wanted to marry. In contrast,Athenian women in the same era weren't even allowed outside the house except for major family occassions such as weddings or funerals, and were rarely educated to the same level as Athenian men (if at all).
Boudicca led a Celtic army in Ancient Britain, whereas Roman women never had any mlitary role.
So,e) is your answer.

I would say e. Rights and status varied considerably. In ancient Egypt for instance, women had far more legal rights than in Greece or Rome.
