Army Rangers? Buddy system?

My bestfriend and I are planning on joining the army together as 11x option 40. Is there still a buddy system? How far along will we most likely be able to stay together? Is there a possibility we could end up on the same squad and spend out career together?

Maybe if you get married first, you'll have a better chance of staying together.

You are a really possessive friend, aren't you?

You'll be together... on the trip to Fort Benning, MAYBE in the same platoon at Basic... and then it's a long list of MAYBEs and PROBABLY NOTs until you get assigned to an actual unit, in which case odds of being in the same squad are roughly equal to winning the lottery and being attacked by a shark while standing at the top of K2.

Look guy...when they had the "buddy system" all that it guaranteed is that you would ship to basic training at the same time

Not that you would be together in basic...and not anything other than shipping at the same time

There are WAY too many variables in your little scenario to make any kind of guarantee like that

It isn't Burger King. You don't "get it your way"
