What are the present tense forms of these sentences?

Hi, I'm writing a story in present tense, but I get confused easily with it because some of the sentences don't sound right. Here are the sentences:

His voice seemed to be trembling.

I could tell that he was nervous.

I couldn't tell whether he was being serious or not.

I don't know if they can be both present and past tense or not. Thank you. :)

In writing a story, even if it is in the present tense, u may have the opportunity to include some few past verbs in case they really talk about past actions that must have been finished. Anyway regarding your sentences here :

    - if u mean that while talking to him his voice was trembling, you can say :

His voice seems trembling / OR / His voice is trembling.

    - I can tell that he was nervous (Since you are now talking about something that had finished)

    - I can't tell whether he was being serious or not. / OR / I can't tell whether he had been serious or not.
