Would you shop at a place that only accepted credit or debit for payment?

There are some places that refuse to accept credit and debit and opt to only accept cash or check. So, what about the opposite? Do you know of any places that only accept credit or debit?

If it's a reputable shop then yes I would. If it's a new shop I would be very wary and thinking to myself "Why cards only? What are they doing with my card info?". Not everyone can get a debit card if they have been insolvent so the shop will only be restricting custom.

But bare in mind most people do this on a daily basis by shopping online but a physical shop doing this would be slightly confusing.

    Hope this helps.

EDIT: The comment about a car rental place is true but a normal everyday shop wouldn't. If they require ID or a card kept on file then they could easily become card only.

A car rental place in a small town wouldn't accept cash. Sign said it was for the safety of their workers. I thought it was a good idea!

There is a trendy little diner in my city that does not except cash. I find it irritating and honestly would not go there except it is a favorite among my friends.

    Don't shop there then.
