Step 1: Wash hair (Make sure to condition)
Step 2: Let hair air dry until damp
Step 3: Comb out hair
Step 4: add a texturize hair cream
Step 5 : French braid your hair
Let it dry. You can sleep or wait a few hours. If you don't want to wait just blow dry it.
After it's dry take out the braid and you'll get waves. Depending on how tight you make the braid will affect how the waves will look like. You can put some shine spray if you want to give it a healthy look.

I recommend that you try a shampoo called Bumble and Bumble Seaweed shampoo. It's quite expensive, but I've found it brings out the natural curl in my hair. I have very long hair, so it tends to go straight due to the weight of it.
However when I went waterskiing back in my college days, I discovered the natural algae in the river made my hair very curly. It shocked me and my roommates, who were with me at the time, because the difference was so noticeable.
Bumble and Bumble is unique because it doesn't contain any harsh perfumes or alcohol products. It's pretty much just algae and goo. But I find there's enough goo in it that I don't even need to use a conditioner.
That's the other thing; don't use conditioner after trying Bumble and Bumble. Conditioners have alcohol in them, so they'll counteract the effect of the seaweed/algae.
Now be warned: Bumble and Bumble also makes coconut and other scented shampoos, but these don't have the natural algae that you find in the Seaweed shampoo. So if you're not going to get the Bumble and Bumble SEAWEED shampoo, then don't bother. Their other shampoos don't work the same way.
Also, this shampoo doesn't smell as yummy as most shampoos, but it doesn't smell bad either. It just smells sort of clean like soap. I love the stuff!
Bear in mind, also, that I'm a Caucasian person. My children, who are part Native American and part Hungarian have slightly different hair than me. One has very thick, naturally curly hair (probably coming from her Hungarian ancestors on her dad's side of the family); my other daughter has thick straight hair that won't stay curled even after using curlers (rollers). So ethnicity can play a part in your hair's ability to maintain a curl.

1.You can get a curling irion and curl it
2.but go healthier with your hair and before bed put 4 braids in your hair two braids will do it but it wont last
Divide you hair in half and then in half again so you u will have 4 parts to braid ,tie each of them. in the morning lets the braids out gently and use some hold hairspray so the waves can last.
3.If your hair is naturally straight mix some sea salt and water and spray it in your hair and that will give you beach waves. If it works for surfer who are in the beach it can work with you
