Most people with lupus can expect to live a normal life span provided that they follow their treatment plan. Gender is not a factor. Lupus can range from mild to life threatening. It is different for each person. We don't die from lupus, but rather from lupus related complications. The most common causes of death are cardiovascular events, organ failure, and uncontrolled infection.
