Christians: why do you wear the Cross?

Hey. this may seem harsh but sorry. ):

I see that Christians but crosses inside their homes or around their necks.

For an example : if a robe was used to strangle your father that you love to death will you wear it around your neck? Or a knife if it was used to kill someone you love.

Since you love Jesus and you claim he was killed on a Cross then you should be ashamed of it , not wearing what killed your God that you love? I just don't get it.

Best Regards.

Update:

Sorry i wrote but instead of put (: forgive me

You don't get this because you don't understand, The cross is a symbol and reminder of the horrible price Christ paid for our sins, If it were a Guillotine or hangmans noose it would be that, But it wasn't.

The only reason Scripture would forbid wearing a cross or crucifix would be if the object became an idol used for worship (1 Corinthians 10:14) or if the wearer were consumed with how the jewelry made her look (1 Peter 3:3). Many people wear the cross or crucifix as a fashion piece without concern for its symbolism or a desire to represent Christ. But that should not mean Christians can't or shouldn’t wear them. Many Christians wear crosses as a proud expression of their love, respect, and service to Christ, along with a remembrance of what He did for us.

Another concern is when people allow objects such as crosses, crucifixes, figurines, rosaries, bumper stickers, etc., to take the place of the true change that should take place in our hearts. The things we wear, carry, or put on our cars are not what make us Christians. God is not concerned with what we wear as long as we do not dress in a way that would cause anyone to stumble in his or her walk with God (Romans 14:20) and we are not absorbed with our looks or our possessions. He is searching out our hearts to find who is faithful to Him and whether we encourage and show love to others. It is not for any of us to judge whether wearing a cross is proper or not; every Christian has to seek God's approval in all he does. If it is not clearly outlined in Scripture whether a practice is lawful or edifying, then the practice is one better left to each person’s conscience.

Given that there is not one single piece of contemporary nor archaeological evidence to suggest that Jesus ever existed then it is difficult to say. Many believe that this Jesus guy died on a cross, but there is far less evidence of this than there is of Cookie Monster doing ANYTHING. The simple fact is that the devout/theistic believe what they are told without question. If they had questioned their beliefs then they would have found fact. There is no fact in the Abrahamic religions, and that is a fact.

In only one of the gospels did jesus carry his own cross. In the other three then it was carried by Simon. Very Nobel of the son of god to let someone else do his work.

If the bible is the direct word of god then why do none of the books agree with each other? More to the point, why have 96% of Christians never read a single word of the bible?

You're right but what you fail to recognise is Christians don't wear what many think was Christ's death instrument, that would be false Christians you're talking about, though I can understand why you may think that as most who claim the title are false which is made clear by Gods word.

Another mark of false Christianity which I'm sure you'll understand is the pagan notion of the triune God.

Do the research spot the identifiers and then next time you see someone wearing a cross you will know what they really are, a spiritually naive imposter.

The cross was used in ancient pagan worship. Just like the christmas tree, church steeples are disgusting pagan symbols, the bunny in easter is a sign of fertility in paganism. Much of christianity today is stained with false worship practices so it is not a surprise that so called christians would use an image in their worship that doesn't accurately describe what Jesus died on (which was an upright pole not a cross) and that is rooted in pagan worship. This mixing of beliefs really took off after Constantine's "conversion". But no lie could ever become the truth no matter how many believe it. Please go to jw.org to find out more info on what the Bible really teaches.

That cross was the source of my/our salvation. If you understand how somebody dies on a cross you would know it was the cruelest form of execution carried out by a so called civilized man. Christ dying on that cross goes all the way back to Genesis when God repented for ever making man. He could have destroyed us all then but chose to save us instead.

The cross is not a bad sign at all for Christians.

Yes its what CHRIST died upon but it was to save the world from sin - to redeem us.

Its used today as an identification of being Christian.

Why would be ashamed of the Cross - it was CHRIST (GOD in flesh) who died on the Cross so give us salvation. JESUS died upon it to save humanity - what did Muhammad do to save you my friend?

You follow a Man who was a pedophile and hated Jews and Christians - someone who killed many and you call him a Prophet.

May the GOD of the BIBLE be with you.

This argument = old + lame

It's like asking why the crescent moon is still the symbol of Islam even though Islam no longer worships the moon god.

EDIT: Of course you don't know who the Arab moon god is....because, as I said, Islam does NOT worship it anymore. (Does saying the shahada make you illiterate or something?)

The pagan Arab moon god "al-ilah" was changed to "allah." Al-ilah was worshipped at the Kabba....the same pagan temple Muslims prostrate themselves to today. This is even in the Koran....the moon god Al-ilah had 3 daughters....their names were Lat, Uzza, and Manat.....the Koran tells Muslims to worship these daughters of the moon god (Sura 53:19-20). Later ayaat, of course, tell Muslims to stop worshipping these goddesses again....exactly as I said.

Islam followed the same evolution as Judaism. It started with a whole pantheon of Gods, and eventually decided to worship just one. (In the case of Judaism, it was Yahweh, the god of war. For Muslims, it was Al-ilah, the god of the moon.)

Why is it the followers of Islam always know the least about Islam's history? If you'd read some history along with your hadith, you'd be amazed what you learn.
