Bucking when engine is cold/outside temp. cold?

2000 Nissan Maxima SE (std. transmission), 105 K miles. Car starts fine and idles smoothly, back out of my garage and when I go up an incline, the car 'bucks' under load. No SES light comes on. After driving a few miles, and then drive the same incline, the car does not hesitate. I thought it might be related to a water temperature sensor but in a talking to an auto mechanic he said it might be due to a leaking fuel injector. Any ideas?

It's normal on an older car. The engine has lost a little compression over the years and the injector spray pattern has deteriorated so that when it's cold, the fuel is not atoimized that well in the intake and the engine goes lean when you put a high load on it at low rpm. If you pulled the heads off and decarboned the combustion chambers, did a valve grind, and replaced the injectors, you would get your cold driveability back.

#1. Change the fuel filter first.

#2. Ask a trusted private mechanic or Nissan Dealer to test the fuel pressure on the fuel rail pressure fitting. This is a very inexpensive test BUT the fuel filter must be clean to get an accurate fuel pressure reading.
