3 Types Of Hauntings?

Residual- imprint type haunt....non-intelligent

Intelligent two types- ghost, and spirits that travel from other higher dimensions.

I don't know the actual answer you're looking for, but I would cynically add another one or two:

4) Imaginary. Just like the very next question in this forum, some people think their homes are haunted anytime they see the lights flicker and misplace their iPods.

5) Fake. It's impossible to know the numbers, but I'd guess that at least 10% of the hauntings you read about here are outright fakes. Excluding the many sincere reports from people who see ghosts in the bedroom that can't be distinguished from dreams and/or hypnagogic/hypnapompic hallucinations, those munbers shoot up sharply. I picked 10% because of a rule of thumb in poker called Harrington's Law, which states that there is never less than a 10% chance that your opponent is bluffing. I find that's a good extrapolation to life as a whole--there's never less than a 10% chance that someone is lying, intentionally or not. That number goes up for used car and house siding/roofing salesmen, and definitely for alien abduction and paranormal haunting stories. I *did* say it's cynical, but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

Infinity killer sounds the most correct.. those are the only three types I know of... demon ghost or rift... I suppose there is a third type and thats Psychic.. sometimes though very rare it is someone in the house there own psychic energy causing the stuff happening uncontrolled telekenesis sort of thing.
