Has anybody ever used the Y! Messenger function to chat with other R&S users or Y!A members?

I'd love to chat with some of the people in R&S, but I had my messenger thingy accessible for a year, and all I ever got were messages from spammers and total strangers telling me to convert to Islam.

Is it just that nobody here really wants to IM? Or is Satan preventing cool people from using Y! Messenger by sending his minions to spam people until they deactivate the feature?

Update:

@Desiree: Actually, in person, I really do talk too much.

Anyway, I'm not saying I want to spend all day on Y! Messenger, I'm just saying that some of the e-mail exchanges I've had would have been much easier on Messenger than firing a bunch of e-mails back and forth. I want to argue more than I want to talk about how the weather is in someone else's part of the world, or whatever.

Update 2:

@Isn't Butter Divinity?: Seriously, I don't know what you're getting at. What is it you think I'm "just asking for?"

I type with two fingers. Last time I did IM with someone, they made some snarky comment about having read War And Peace in the downtime between waiting for my replies...

No. The last time I used IM was a long time ago in those old AOL chat rooms and I always got bombarded - I can't handle it.

You're just asking for it, aren't you? O_o

EDIT: To get bombarded with IMs, silly. I thought people would see this question and start messaging you left and right, that's all.

I guess no one feels like downloading Yahoo Messenger. Maybe that's the reason. Well, that and Satan.

I have not used an instant messenger since the late 90s. I was only half aware they are still a thing before this question.

Some have gone, but they have never returned.

On second thought, let's not go to the Messenger. It is a silly place.

E-mail me, I like talking about God. If you can't let me know. I would like to chat with you and talk about things I have learned through life and reading the bible, and what I have learned in school makes sense of a God who has reason and made it that way. I have learn some stuff and maybe you have as well that you can teach me. I am all ears to learning.

No, I don't like getting preached to. Besides, I suck at holding normal conversations.
