Why do we not honor our nations heroes?
We have stamps honoring Presidents, explorers, scientists, writers.....even Mickey Mouse.... But we do not have a series of stamps honoring Congressional Medal of Honor awardees.....In fact I know of only ONE stamp that honors two medal of honor winners from World War II ? ! !....Many of these people gave their life serving our nation..... and we can not find the time and money to show our appreciation with a series of stamps in their honor?????
THE QUESTIONER... First after 30 years military service.... never seen a baby killer....known several baby savers....men who lost their lives saving people.... but no "baby killers"
BUT even if there were such a thing....what has that got to do with men and women who were crippled and even died serving their nation.....?
SARAH.... There is a SERIES for Presidents.....There is a SERIES for Authors and Artists...... pay attention now....WHERE IS THE SERIES FOR CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR AWARDEES..... My friend "Snake" Hoskins did not write a book....or paint a pretty picture....HE DIED SERVING HIS COUNTRY....and you do not know what he did....or even who he is..... there are lots of stamps that honor the military....they are stamps but not a series for our dead heroes / patriots

A generic commemorative stamp hardly does justice to the men and women who gave everything they ever had to serve this country..... Edgar Allen Poe has a stamp..... Booker T Washington has a stamp..... Eli Whitney has a stamp..... MARTHA WASHINGTON has a stamp !.... Where is the stamp for PFC George who threw himself on a grenade to save the lives of his fellow soldiers?

dude,in fact Many uninformed of these people gave their life for serving capitalism,Military companies,Militants,politicians games... many good people died in the street while these people fought in Afghanistan with Taliban(farcical) and they made a bigger enemy "Drug". and who made and armored Taliban!

Probably comes down to the fact that no one has petitioned,the postmaster general,or their local congressman,or woman to consider these people. Pose your question to your local politicians,and write to the President. One more thing,there is alot of stamps that have been publshed over the years,are you sure, that these people have not been honored?

The nations heroes are one of the precious jewels of nation. They do deserve a proper honor.

Probably political. With how many "troops are baby murderers!" Type people we have in the US today, there would be mass demonstrations, people attempting to get them banned and burned and all that wonderful feel good stuff you see in Berkley CA.
