Interlochen Arts Academy or Walnut Hill (dance)?
I want to go a performing arts boarding school for ballet but I have no idea which one. Interlochen is closer to where I live so I would be able to visit my family much easier, I know someone who has gone there so I could easily talk to them about it and everything so I would actually know what I was doing, and there is an audition right by where I live. Walnut Hill is more centered on ballet and I heard that their academics are better, but it is far from my house so getting home during breaks and things would be much harder, and the closest audition would be at least 2 hours away. Both of these schools sound amazing!!! I have no idea what the best option is. Help!

Hi! I dance more on the recreational scale, but my best friend is a very serious dancer that has been talking about going to Interlochen. Interlochen is extremely prestigious and if you have the opportunity to go there then I say go for it!!!!
I think I would choose Interlochen for the reason that it is for one closer to your family, that is always a comforting thing to know they are within reach. I think that Interlochen is also more well-known than Walnut Hill. It's also nice you know someone who went there so you can get a deeper understanding of the school. It is a big decision- I understand! I am trying to find a summer program that offers dance as more of a fun thing and it is not easy to find! Best of luck to you wherever you choose and have an awesome summer.
