There have been a lot of problems in Russia lately, so would an ordinary person be safe during the Olympics?

First of all, Anne, the correct spelling of the name of the city that's hosting the games is Sochi, not "Sotsji." And yes, every effort is being made to keep the athletes and their coaches safe. Russia has backed away from a lot of its more restrictive policies in advance of the games, simply because they don't want the negative publicity that having such rules in place will bring them.
