If this was my dog that needed to gain weight I would go to a store and get some wet dog food and mix it in with dry dog food. Dogs LOVE Wet Dog Food. Feed him about 2 x a day.

You should NOT overfeed the dog, to help it gain weight. Didn't you hear about the many WWII concentration camp victims who when they were finally saved (and were skin & bone) literally ate themselves to death (their bodies could not toterate the super-influx of food after being in starvation mode).
Start slowly, but feed 3-4 times per day, of smaller meals . Divide UP the total normal amount the dog would be eating - had this NOT happened. The dog will gradually gain back (at no more than 1-2 lbs a week) the weight he lost, from not being fed. If you overdo it all at once (as you want to) the dog may get BLOAT - which can be FATAL. If the food is too fatty or rich he may get pancreatitis.

A dog does not get super skinny as you indicate overnight. He must have been losing weight over some period of time. Did you not notice this until now? You need to get him to a vet to find a cause. If a dog has been starved over time the worse thing you can do is to just feed a large amount or change the diet quickly.
Since you just noticed this then you need to get him to a vet before you try to correct this. You could do him more harm then good.

First, throat punch your dad for being an abusive liar. Second do NOT super feed your dog!!!! Just increase the dog's ration and add a few higher caloric treats/supplements. You feed to much too fast after your dog has been starving it can put the body into shock. It can also cause bloat and other issues... The best way to start is talk to the vet and explain what happened.

Well you don't wanna feed him to much Thant could be bad. Just feed him like you usually would so like 2 times a day. If you feed him to much he could get really sick since he hasn't been eating it'll be so overwhelming on him. Kinda like humans. Give him time to gain it back. I'd recommend giving him soft food though it should help him gain a little bit faster but not really sure. Also give him a lot of attention so he knows he's still loved!!!!!
