I have a finished book novel, and have a question?

about posting numbers, and dates. I have heard two different views, and don't know which way to go. Should they be A) written out, as in January, sixth, two thousand fourteen, or, B) written as numbers, such as 1, 06, 2014, OR, January, 06, 2014. I need to edit it before I submit it to an agent.

I would like this from established writers, and those who KNOW the answer.

Thank you.

Referring to it as a "book novel" makes me think you have a long way to go...

The correct format for dates is one of many things that vary from publisher to publisher. If your book is accepted for publication, the editor will change any dates to use the publisher's preferred format. Until then, just be consistent - pick one format and stick with it.

You need to own and use a style manual.

Strunk and White's "Elements of Style" is the best.
