Nasal polyps and I'm leaving for the marines?

I have bad nasal polyps and I plan to get the surgery done January 31st. I leave feb 24 th for the marines and I want to know if ill be good by then. My recruiter is ok with it as long and they don't cut me. My doctor says I'll be fine but I'm wondering if A: it will be noticeable and I wil get DQd or B: it still bothers me in boot camp. It bothers me now so I'm defiantly doing the surgery

Think about what the word "surgery" means and the words from your recruiter "they don't cut me".

Surgery means they WILL cut you to remove the polyps. Polyps are usually surface level within your nasal cavity. They will take a while to heal. During that time, you may experience some bleeding (no aspirin products - they thin the blood), there could be pain, and potential discoloration on the surface of external sinus area (nose and face) - depends on who gentle the surgeon is. Keep in mind that the surgeon may have to literally stretch your nasal opening on your nose to access the polyps - depends on where they are located and how deep.

You will probably have to use a nose pot with saline to flush the mucous and clean the areas where the polyps were removed. After they are removed, you should be OK in bootcamp, so long at the surgeon does a professional job.

Keep the recruiter informed. He/she may have to reschedule your bootcamp departure date. This is better than being sent back home from bootcamp which would probably DQ for reapplication.

Good luck and welcome to the Corps.

PS: Talk with the recruiter about delaying the surgery until after completing bootcamp and SOI/MCT. That is another possibility unless MEPS puts the surgery as a requirement for enlistment.

As a Nasal Polyps sufferer for 8 years, I was skeptical of anything that promises to heal polyps in days. I got in touch with Manuel Richards any explained my case together with my skepticism.

After asking me some questions, he told me that what I had was Samter's triad and assured me that with his guidance I'd be free of not only the polyps, but of other long-term symptoms I had. He told me there were specific foods that I had to strictly avoid due to my condition, and gave me precise steps that I needed to do every day.

Barely 10 days later, my polyps are completely gone, my sense of smell if back to normal, I no longer get headaches and I feel more energetic than ever!

I cured my nasal polyps permanently and naturally

    Hey there,

Nasal polyps are common, noncancerous, teardrop-shaped growths that form in the nose or sinuses, usually around the area where the sinuses open into the nasal cavity. Mature nasal polyps look like seedless, peeled grapes.

Nasal polyps shouldn't be confused with the polyps that form in the colon or bladder. Unlike these types of polyps, they're rarely malignant. Usually, they're thought to result from chronic inflammation or a family tendency to develop nasal polyps.
