Do you have to bake a chocolate pie crust when making an ice cream pie?
This will be my first time making an ice cream pie. I have seen different recipes calling for a graham cracker crust to be baked, but not a chocolate crust?
Also, if I buy the chocolate crust instead of making it, will I have to bake it? Or do I just scoop the soften ice cream into the crust and put it in the freezer?

Homemade ones you only bake 8-10 mins on 350F. You don't have to bake the bought ones, they're stuck together well enough. Just make sure to cool it before adding the ice cream.

Normally the crusts are made from crumbs, sugar and butter. The sugar and butter are the "glue" that shape the crust when heated. So, yes, you need to bake it. If you don't bake it, the crumbs will just fall apart and create a mess when you add the ice cream

you mean an oreo cookie crumb crust? I don't bake any of the crumb crusts. You are going to be putting the crust into the fridge or freezer so it doesn't melt and get all soggy! and at my house these things will last about one hour after presentation! NO worries!
I buy some crumb crusts and never bake them before filling with whatever! And NO they don't go back to crumb because they are refrigerated or frozen!!
