I replaced the diverter stem in my shower; no I can't get the water to come out of the shower head.?
I also replaced the seat. So I put the old stem back in with the new seat, NO GO! Then I put the old stem in with the old seat, NO GO! F&%K! Lastly, I put the new stem in with the old seat, NO GO!
So what the hell is going on?

The water can be left on for this.
