Ok, imagine your group in a nice resort hotel. You meet a nice Mexican man in a great suit with lots of gold chains who is staying in the next suite. He is a drug dealer who may need to have a shoot out in his room.... next door to you.
Not all of the Mexican bad guys are in dirty jeans in a beat pick-up; some are next door and some are dressed as police.
