Is leaving the bathroom door open after using it unhygienic, correct?

I tell my dad to put the cover on the toilet after using it and closing the door but he never does and it wreaks! I bought deodorizer but he threw it away. What do I do?

Well, after one has a bowel movement, the smell can be overwhelming. Pulling the lid cover over the toilet is an impossible task for most men to comprehend. Few men let the toilet seat down after urinating! Something about the brain.....there's a dysfunctional corner somewhere. Before I get attacked, please read I didn't say ALL men, I said FEW men.

Ok. Whether or not the lid is down has nothing to do with controlling the odor, or hygiene because there is a space around the toilet seat and the china bowl anyway. I can't even imagine why he threw away the deodorizer. Perhaps you could have a talk with him, or your mom if she is part of the household. Find out his reasonings in a friendly manner so he does not take it as an attack.

Meanwhile, can you get one of those plug ins that give off a gentle pleasant aroma all the time? Also, you can keep a can of not so heavy smelling spray in your personal bed room and when you walk by and smell anything offensive, go get it and spritz it around. A neutral aroma or ''odor killing'' spray is better than any floral, citrus smell which can be overwhelming.

Give it a go and see if it helps any. Otherwise, don't expect him to change any of his bad habits for you. Many men won't change bad habits for their own wives, much less kids. But they love ya anyway, with all your faults, and expect you to do the same without judgment. Good luck.

Move out get your own place. If he smells that bad he could have bowel cancer.
