Looking for a laptop that I can use to game for under $1000?

I don't want anything crazy expensive, as I also have a Macbook Pro (I'm a music major and need to use it for all the midi software and stuff available for them). I'm not concerned about using the computer for anything other than gaming. However, with that said, I don't want to spend so much money on something that I'm only using for just gaming. I do however want to be able to play most games. I'm not concerned about being able to run games on the absolute highest settings, but I don't want to be stuck playing on low settings, or have it just be skipping a lot or having long loading times or anything. So basically, I want to be able to play most games, games like Skyrim, Fallout, Civilization, the Total War games, The Sims (Not too worried, cause those are always made for Mac as well), stuff like that.

So in short, I would like a laptop that can play games alright, but I would like to spend under $1000

Hey Soul! I also love music too! And as for your question. The Lenovo Y410p (Search it in Lenovo site) should be your choice! It's a gaming laptop! I just searched it on YouTube and guess what? It can play games that you mentioned on high settings except Skyrim (Medium to low settings would be very playable).. And also you should consider buying a "COOLING PAD" because in my experience it gets hot even if it's an Alienware laptop.. The Price of Lenovo Y410p is $949.. SORRY for my English! It's not my native language.. And if you are OK with WINDOWS 8.. This should be your laptop! Also you should check out YouTube gameplays of this laptop..

Go to IT Fares. They'll bargain the price until it's definitely lower than a $1000.
