How to remove moss from garden lawn in January (UK)?

It is far too early in the year to do anything with a lawn, you need to wait til spring then get a weed and feed moss killer and apply it to the lawn. At the same time you can scarify it and hollow tine it to prevent moss growing back. Last year I raked it all out, made holes in the lawn and filled with sand to help the drainage. This year mine too is filled with moss again. I guess you could always use a moss killer and reseed.

Why would you want to remove it? Moss is great. It doesn't have to be mowed like grass and it helps keep out weeds unlike grass.

Don't bother until end of March when hopefully it will get a bit drier, then get some ferrous sulphate and sprinkle it over the moss.

I just rake it then get like a brush and stab ur handle in the ground to help it drain!

Rake it out. Should be easy as the ground is so wet.

remove it then spray some bleach on it, that will prevent any future moss growth. works like a charm!!!

leave it alone ..i get it every year ..in spring the grass will soon grow through and it disapears
