Carries mood disorder in Homeland? Bipolar?
I have seen in a bunch of recaps/reviews and such that Carrie is described as a bipolar CIA agent. Early on she admits to Virgil that her meds are for her mood disorder, but has it ever actually been specified as to being bipolar disorder?
And she doesn't mention Lithium as being one of her meds when she talks to Virgil about it in the pilot. I've come to understand that Lithium is the most common mood stabilizer for managing bipolar disorder..?
Anyone know? :)
She talks about taking antipsychotics, like Clozapine, which is most often used in patients with Schizophrenia. And obviously she has some kind of mood disorder as she is most definitely manic, or even hypomanic, several times during the first three seasons. But has anyone actually said "Bipolar disorder" in the series, or is that just an assumption?

Yes she has bipolar disorder, which is why she secretly takes an antipsychotic medication named clozapine. http://homeland.wikia.com/wiki/Carrie_Mathison
