Driver license renewal?

I'm active duty military stationed in California. Im from Colorado and just turned 21, which means I have to renew my drivers license because it expires this February. I tried renewing online on colorado dmv website but it says I have to do it in person, can I just renew it here in california? I also don't have a car yet or the time to go to Colorado.

With now car to get to CO, unless there is a military exemption on expired license(check with your platoon sgt and on up), you will have to re-up the license in CA.

If you have an address there you can. Some states dont transfer licenses from other states. That means you would have to take a driving test to get a license. Most states allow transfer. Just make sure you bring other government approved id's to the dmv/dps with you. Also proof of residence is a must.

    Hi there,

There's a link about renewing by mail on the Colorado DMV's website, but unfortunately the link isn't working right now.

    You'll see what I mean at http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/Revenue-MV/RM...

Perhaps it'll be working by the time you try it. If not, I'd give them a call to ask about renewing by mail. http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/Revenue-MV/RM...

    Good luck!
