If you feel that upgrading is something you should be doing, then I would definitely recommend you do so now. You will get some great components for decent prices and be able to use them right now by upgrading now. The new Intel CPU's are going to be shifting toward a different architecture(smaller ones), so the motherboard you have right now would probably have to be replaced then. If you wait for the next generation of chips to be released there is a chance that the current chips will decrease in price, but that is not guaranteed...it depends on the market. I personally went wrestled with this thought, but decided to just jump in and build my system using the newest components just last month. I have enjoyed my machine and it works very well. I am set for the next several years in gaming at the highest settings with my current setup but will be adding another GTX 780Ti for SLI in two or three years probably anyway.

And in many many years I will build another system, but for now I would recommend going with what is out. Something better will always be coming out...so you could wait forever...enjoy it while you can.

There will always be a new Intel processor on the drawing board. Whether you upgrade or wait is a personal choice.
