It is a kind of giant ferris wheel that has 32 sealed and air conditioned passenger capsules, that can hold 25 people, attached to the outer rim of the wheel. It is also known as the Millenium Wheel as it was opened on 31st December 1999. It is situated on the south bank of the Thames and offers fantastic views of London, including the whole of Westminster, hence the name London Eye. It moves quite slowly so passengers can enjoy the views.
