Opinions on the baby boy name Finnegan?

He would go by "Finn". What do you guys think about this name? Also, my husband and I both have Irish/Scottish heritage on both sides of our family. But neither of us are actually Irish or Scottish, if you understand what I mean. Would it be odd to name our baby something so...... cultural like Finnegan?

I prefer the spelling Finnigan; actually, this is one of my favorite names! It's really bouncy so using Finn is probably a good idea. I think it's cultural but not to the point of complete irony, like naming an American boy Kokashi Vu or something like that. Great name -- Finnigan, that is.

I don't really like it. Its one of those names that is never used here in Ireland but Americans seem to have adopted it like Malachy, Lachlan etc so its more of an American name.

I don't think the cultural thing is a problem since its not a name used in Ireland but it would be annoying for the child to keep answering questions on whether he's Irish or not :/
