Why are most questions in this section about US politics?

Why don't we have more discussion about world politics, such as what's going on in Syria, or what's going on in Central Africa? Or even, heaven forbid, what's going on in Australia or the UK?

Update:

Only place we have any Australian questions is on the 'Travel" Australia section, where we do ask all sorts of questions, and there's a regular core of Aussie participants, however, we also have report monkeys who visit from other sections, and they get their knickers in a knot because they see that the questions are often not about travel at all. But it's the only place where we can ask questions. Tricky, see....... By the way, Happy Australia Day to youse all!!!!

I would guess that most of those asking and answering question here are from the U.S., so the fact that they would deal primarily with U.S. politics is not surprising.

US State media doesn't discuss international news because it puts the dear leader in a bad light and with the anti-government protests everywhere it goes against the US government absolute power point of view.

Surprising that I saw a few news articles on yahoo about the anti government protest in the Ukraine that Ukrainians were commenting on. I'm wondering if that might have slipped by them or something.

U.S. politics is more relevant to the world as a whole than those locations, in fact if they have relevant news it's probably because it involves their relationship with the United states.

It is very much dependent upon time zones. Most of America has already gone to bed.

  • Why don't you ask a question with one of these subjects, to get the conversation started?

Or, wait a minute? I guess, you just did? Thanks for playing!

How could expanding topics serve US conservative provincialism? Try to make sense.
