Does he feel sorry for me or is he just a friendly person?

I'm a really shy person, and I'm not proud of it. I try really hard to put a stop to it, and so far, it's been getting a little bit better. But I'm so sick of people feeling bad for me because of it. I just hate the feeling of people taking pitty on me... it's just pathetic. But there's this one guy though who I think feels REALLY bad for me or something. Bare with me here, cause this could be long.

1. He ditched all of his friends and was like, "You guys go ahead. I'm gonna stay outside and talk to Coralie."

2.He's overly friendly around me. He'll always ask me stuff like, "You okay?" or, "How did you do on so and so?" or, "What do you think, Coralie?" But he never even asks what anybody else thinks. He always lets me decide what we're gonna do and seems to agree with everything I say. When someone tells me good job, he always has to shout it too. And not just to be a spaz... he's actually sincere.

3.His friends were fighting over french fries, and play wrestling and stuff. But then he turned back around to me and was all, "Oh I'm sorry Coralie. Want a french fry?"

4. He's always looking at me... I think he's trying to see how I'm doing. I remember one time, He accidentally stepped on my shoe, and he felt SO bad. I was like, "It's no big deal, really." But no. It was for him.

5. I told him I didn't want any food. He still gave me a piece of his candy. :/ But whatever it was good. Also, he borrowed a dollar from me, and he felt a very "strong" need to repay me...

6. I don't know why, but he always has to stand next to me for some reason. His friend was in between us, and as soon as his friend took a step forward, he took the chance to steal his spot and be next to me. yay. :( It's been more than just that time though.

7. I think he's too protective of me. He told his friend that we had to be partners, because I think he was trying to let me get to know him better. His friend was like, "But I wanna be with you." So he was like, "That hurts Coralie's feelings." So then his friend was like, "Okay, then I'll be with her." And then he was like, "Well that hurts me feelings!" And so on... I feel like he thinks he's some sort of baby sitter, because he has to know where I am at all times. If there's one second where I'm not there, he's like, "Where's Coralie?!"

8.I didn't have my glasses with me, (don't ask why) so I didn't want to to the obstacle course. I just wanted to do a slide, because then I wouldn't really have to look where I was going. So me and him and some of my friends took a vote on who wanted to do the slide or the obstacle course. I was the only one who wanted the slide, so he spent a whole five minutes trying to think of a compromise for me. Ugh.

9.He playfully teases me. An example would be when I was untangling lights, and he yanked them out of my hands and said, "You're doing it way too slow!" then he was smiling and was like, "Haha I stole your job."

Then on stage, he was like," And then we have Coralie on the drums!" Everyone was cheering really loud, and it was great. Then he was like, " Do a drum solo." And I was just like, "Uh, no." So he turned back to the microphone and was laughing, and was like, "Anyways, I'm %$#@!... I guess Coralie didn't want-" and then he waved his arm down at me, making this face like I was being lame, but at the same time it was fine. It made the audience laugh so hard though :3
