MATHS, URGENT!!!!!!!!
2 questions-( please answer. .)
1. Helga has 4 cards-2, 9, 6 and 3. The mean is 5. Helga picks another card. The mean of her five card is 6. what number is on the new card?
2. Sammy got a mean of 40 in three rounds of 9-hole mini golf. His range was 10. He scored 38 in one of his rounds. What did he score in the other two rounds?

1. You get the mean by adding them all up then dividing by how many there were. So when she divided by 5, getting 6, they must have added up to 5 x 6 = 30. So do 2 + 9 + 6 + 3, then subtract that from 30.
2. Range is highest minus lowest. 40 times 3 =120 so you know the three add to 120.
120 - 38 = 82 so the other two add to 82, but are 10 apart. So 46 and 36
