Are FAFSA grants linked to yourself or a specific school?

I'm applying for student aid and loans and I originally planned to go to my local college. However I don't have a lot of cash and a friend has offered to rent me a room about 60 miles from where I currently live for a much cheaper price then my current housing. The house is in escrow so the plans not set in stone. I was wondering if I apply for aid will it follow me to another college or will I have to completely reapply in the new city? Any advice would be helpful.

FAFSA money is linked to you and your financial standing. They will have to know your final college decsion, though seeing as they directly give the money to the college of you choosing (and then maybe you, if you get more than enough grant money).
