What monthly flea product do you recommend for a house that has dogs and cats living together?
I can't remember which one it is, but I know there is one that is poisonous to cats if you put it on your dog when they share living areas.
What can you recommend from personal experience in the big name products?

You must use appropriate flea meds for each. NEVER use any dog products on cats. Be sure it says "for cats only". The safe ones are Advantage or Revolution.
Advantix is toxic to cats and never use it on dogs if you have cats. Frontline is not as effective as it once was. NEVER use any Hartz, Bob Martin, Sargents, BioSpot for your pets - all are worthless or too toxic. Some have killed both dogs and cats.

That would be Advantix - not to be confused with Advantage. Very toxic and will kill a cat if accidentally applied on it, which is why vets don't recommend it for households with both - it is that lethal. Advantage is good but the ones your vet sells are better - Revolution and Advantage Multi are better still, but in the US they require a prescription.

Advantage is best! It works great. Is not cheap but is worth it. They make it for both cats and dogs.
