Is it true that if (x - 4)/2 = (y - 6)/3, then x/2 = (y - 3)/3?

    (x - 4)/2 = (y - 6)/3

    x/2 - 2 = y/3 - 2

    x/2 = y/3

    ( x- 4)/2 = ( y- 6)/3

    or x/2 - 4/2 = y/3 - 6/3

    or x/2 - 2 = y/3 - 2

    or x/2 = y/3

    (x-4)/2 = (y-6)/3

    [reverse LCM]

    (x/2)-(4/2) = (y/3)-(6/3)

    (x/2)-2 = (y/3)-2

    [2's will cancel out]

    (x/2)=(y/3)

    SO ANS IS NO
