Do straight guys where cologne for other guys?

Ok, so Im bi and my straight friend knows it. We give each other really long hugs hello and bye when we hang out.

Last time we hung out (we were driving in his car), before I said bye for the night I had to hop out to grab something from my car, and then got back into his to say goodnight. I noticed that he had put a little cologne on while I was gone and he had a breath mint.

So, I definitely don't want to read too much into that, but just curious, he knows we're about to get close and hug, and he wants to smell nice for me. Do normally straight guys do that, or is he maybe not as straight as I think?
