how do i pitch a movie idea?

Okay I have movie ideas and one I want to write into a book.

People have told me to write a script blah blah blah.

I want to know how pitch my idea and who to talk to.

What do I need to do

And I figured they'd want a script or whatever, but I feel like that's too much for just me.

I can give them a general idea of the story.

Anyways thanks.

What Tommy said. There's no easy way. Yes, you're gonna have to write the script. And it has to be damn good. Because if it's not amazing(!), and I'm talking all aspects of it… there's no way to get an agent, which means there's no way of you pitching it to anyone.

People who told you to write a script don't know how much work you will have to put into an idea that they don't even know for sure whether it's really good, whether it could actually work. The industry has its own standards and own rules. There's much more to a good idea than... a good idea. And since the industry filters, you can't just write one script, hope it will sell, and see it on screen. That's not how it works. In order to sell a script, you actually have to be a screenwriter. Say you're heading another direction, career wise; you don't even want to be a screenwriter... Now, I'm just saying, I don't know what you wanna do with your life. But if you're not gonna be a screenwriter, there's no point in writing that script. It takes very hard work on just one, and you're gonna have to write several till you land an agent.

So this is the reality of showbiz. You can't pitch ideas, you need a script. And for that you need an agent - and for that you need to work hard. Just think if that's what you want, and decide based on that.

let me put it this way

film companies have heard it all.

they even have their own writers.

So any ideas you have not on paper will go where other not so great ideas went.. down the drain

    WRITE A SCRIPT

GET IT COPYRIGHTED (or someone can steal it)

    HIRE A AGENT

THEY WILL TRY TO SELL IT

otherwise your just wasting your and mine time

but if you can write it as a book movie producers are always looking t books.

If it's a decent idea,..they'll just take it.

If you were to write a book,...THEY'D come to YOU.

There’s a new company that helps you sell your ideas to Hollywood. It’s called Movie Pitcher…I registered my ideas at http://www.moviepitcher.com/clients/aff.php?aff=02... They actually give you in-depth reviews on your ideas, and I had a couple of offers for one of my ideas. They also review/pitch screenplays and reality TV show ideas. It’s a pretty awesome service. I recommend.
