Mankind is born spiritually separated from God because of our sin. Hell is where that separation continues on after our spirit has departed from our body. Hell is what it is because God is not there. God does not have to do a thing to make hell what it is. It is what it is because fallen man and angels make it what it is. The horrors of war are an illustration of what man is capable of producing in his God-forsaken state.

God invites us to be spiritually re-connected to Him. And as a result of being re-connected to Him, we are able to escape this fate of sinful human beings. You have a choice. You can continue on in your separation, and end up in eternal separation. Or, you can embrace the free gift of life that Jesus has made available to you and experience reconciliation and a relationship with God. But do nothing, and you simply remain in your separated state, both now and eternally.

Heaven is not the default destination which we end up forfeiting. Hell is.

I don't like that approach, but it pretty much boils it down. I find it a rather low-brow way to offer grace. I guess people respond to it at times because they are low-brow.

The offer is peace with God through faith in Christ. The implication is, if you don't trust him (trust is the same as faith), if you don't trust him, you will not have peace with him. And I do think that is accurate.

Anyone telling you that as a Christian is completely ignorant of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and they haven't read the New Testament and the Gospels with understanding.

It obviously isn't and you know this because you had to make up 'believe or burn' There really is no universal mine of real quotes you could get an example from .

ALWAYS, honey ?? Then get a REAL quote.

Not so. Many who "believe" will "burn".

  • *sigh* you really need to learn something and keep it in your brain!

humanity sinned and brought sin into the rest of the world...jesus died on the cross 2014 years ago so people dont have to die...right now if you dont believe you are doomed for hell, and god is trying to help you but he cant help you if you arent willing to accept his help.

I’ve never heard us people say ‘believe of burn’

If you are going to mock anything you should get it straight.

Their God is a tyrant. They're trying to keep up.

eta: Belief in Hell isn't a minority. Why do Christians answering inconvenient questions always claim the majority position is fringe?

Why are all Christians "tarred with the same brush?"
