When might I expect a train to arrive at a particular road crossing?

I'd like to get some video of a train out in the middle of nowhere in the United States. Assuming I know a particular train crossing location, is there a schedule or other database I can look at to get an approximate idea of when a train will pass?

The problem is that I want to find a scenic location for the video shoot, but I've no idea when a train might come by that location.

there used to be a website for tracking trains but it was taken down after 9/11. You just might have to plan a day at the crossing and wait.

You could get a time when a train is expected to be at the crossing if you first invest in a handheld scanner and get the frequency the railroad is using. Once you are at the crossing and awaiting news there is a train coming through and get ready to shoot a video.

Sorry George for security reasons YOU do not need to know when the train will come.

Search out your scenic place and get your camera ready and WAIT. You do not just have to do it at crossings.

Keep safe and DO NOT trespass. The Rail road often owns much land near the tracks and YOU have no business being on it to take pictures unless you first get permission

    Just for fun enjoy.

Look around for some scenic areas to take your pictures not just the crossing.

.You can expect a train at that crossing when:

    A. A busload of nuns runs out of gas right on the crossing.

    OR.

    B. A busload of nuns and orphans runs out of gas right on the crossing.

    OR

    C. A busload of nuns and crippled orphans runs out of gas right on the crossing.

    OR

    D. A busload of crippled nuns and crippled orphans runs out of gas right on the crossing.

    OR

    E. A busload of crippled nuns and crippled orphans, on their way home from the ASPCA ,where they each got to pick out a cute little puppy or kitten, runs out of gas right on the crossing.

    Take your pick.
