Windows 8 won't let me install Photoshop Elements. What Up?
New laptop. I want to install an older version of Photoshop Elements.
It starts to load, then I get a pop-up that says I need to have Internet Explorer 4 or later. I think this has IE 11 or whatever is newest. Can I get around this or am I SOL?
Thanks. I have some other basic photo editing software I may try which came with cameras and such, but would rather use Elements. I don't need anything too complex.

There is a slim chance you may be able to force the install via compatibility mode:

How old is your copy of PSE? You should consider just getting the current version rather than trying to milk the old copy any further. Almost sounds like it belongs on a Windows 98 system.
If you don't want to pay even the $60 that PSE 12 goes for, get the free-to-use GIMP or Paint.NET.

The program is not compatible with IE 11. There are so many changes in IE 11 that many older programs will not recognize that IE is even installed. You may have to downgrade your IE back to version 10 to get the program to install. And even that is not a guarantee that it will work. If it is looker for IE, it probably will not recognize anything over version 8.
