my hdmi isnt transmitting sound right?

I have a samsung tv and a gateway, my hdmi isn't transmitting the sound, it plays the background music well just does not play the voice but so low.

just won the tv :D

Update:

but the hdmi works on a laptop, & its a vizio hdmi

    time to upgrade the hdmi cable. replace it with a gold tipped one. buy a good one. you pay for what you get.
